Episode 28 – ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽChristmas pt1๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ„

Ho Ho Ho - Merry Christmas Everybody!

One of my most favourite times of year is Christmas. Mum and Dad decorate the living room with loads of twinkling lights, huge Christmas stockings hanging down and a garland placed around the fireplace. The centre piece of the living room is Christmas tree almost as high as the ceiling. Outside Dad hangs pretty lights around the entrance porch and has a wreath hanging from the door. It all looks fantastic and it becomes a really exciting time of year.

I love to get up to a bit of mischief also in the spirit of the naughty Christmas Elf. I like nothing more than deliberately walking passed the Christmas tree so close that the lower branches rub against my tail. With a well-orchestrated tail flick, off fly the baubles! Obviously by pure accident – well that’s my version of events anyway!

Christmas was also a time for me to dress up in seasonal attire. Pipps was always good at seeing my full fashion potential and I have been seen on more that one occasion parading around the house with my reindeer antlers proudly on display. My favourite costume was my Santa outfit. More on that to follow as this costume was reserved for Christmas Day which was a whole new level of excitement for me!

Do my Antlers look big in this?

Mum also hangs decorative chocolates off the tree for R, H and Pipps. Wait a minute! She seems to have missed someone out? They aren’t the only chocolate loving members of the family!

“Where are some of the chocolate treats off the tree” Mum interrogated H and Pipps? “I hope that you have not eaten all of those already?” She went on. Nothing to do with us they reply. Cue Shih Tzu exit stage left with the remains of a silver wrapping paper with just the hint of a chocolate smell about it. Caught red handed – whoops! “Mazie – why you little……”. They loved it really, well at least I did – nice chocolate, none of this yucky dog chocolate stuff here, only the best!

On the theme of chocolate, I discovered the chocolate delight of the Christmas coin. Those lovely circles of chocolate wrapped in golden foil. Dad once let me try a bit, that was it, every time I got a sniff of that chocolate I was straight there with my best Oscar winning performance of poor doggy and huge deep brown eyes that could melt the coldest of hearts (and hardest of chocolate!) works every time!

Ready for my presents!

I didn’t want to miss out on presents and Mum and Dad would always get me several gifts and wrap them so that I could open them myself and not feel left out. The presents were laid out around the Christmas tree and using my super nose I was able to sniff my presents out. They had to be hidden or buried deep in the pile to prevent me from opening them before Christmas Day.

Anyway time to open the next door on my advent calendar now, looking forward to Christmas Day. But have I been naughty or nice……….to be continued.

TTFN,

Mazie
