Episode 25 – πŸ’‚‍♂️On Guard!😠

Wait, was that the postman?

In an ideal world everyone would get along and there would be no anger or hate. In reality there are people who are not so nice and have an evil streak. As a Shih Tzu, I am a pretty good judge of character and will do anything to protect myself and my family.

There are occasions where I, a very chilled and easy-going dog, lose my cool and defend at all costs. One of the main offenders is our postman. Each day they come up or path and to the front door and even worse, push stuff through our letterbox! How rude!

After a few times of observing this, that was enough. Each morning, I would base myself in a strategic position next to the window ledge waiting for them to come. Then red alert here they were and off into “killer mode” I would go.

“Bark, Bark, Bark Bark………..n-times Bark”

I would jump up and show my teeth, a lovely set though I say so myself, and give them the meanest look possible. After the postman left there would be a massive splodge of dog saliva dripping down the window after I was so angry. I later found out that the postman was a really nice person and that if I had been nice to them I would have got a huge cuddle and perhaps a biscuit – whoops!

Right - On Guard - Ready for the postman!

One time, Gran was taken poorly at our house, and the doctor had to be called. He arrived with a driver (not sure why doctors can’t drive themselves?). He was a large man and a typical doctor – all science and no manners, so I went for him as he was attacking Gran (so I thought). Off into the other room I was sent in no time at all, still barking and shouting “let me at ‘em”. The doctor was so scared that he nearly left the house asking Mum and Dad how big our dog was (he hadn’t seen me at that time). I suspect that he thought I was some sort of huge rottweiler or small lion! He would have been so embarrassed to see that I was equal in proportion to a medium sized teddy bear! The great soft lump! Just doing my job!

Do I look evil to you?

Mum’s uncle was not very nice to me, and he used to push me around and call me names which I hated so every time I saw him, he got my full anger. He used to say I was an evil out of control dog but in reality, he was cruel and nasty himself. Mum and Dad never saw this side of him, but R did and to this day won’t speak to him. Thank you R for sticking up for me.

What people don’t understand is that we are pack animals and programmed to protect the pack at all costs. If you approach us or the family in the right way we will be your best friends but if you threaten us or give the impression of trespassing, we will have you every time. This is not our fault it is always the fault of the human. Please learn your lessons people.

I had the best family in the whole wide world and would do anything to protect them, and they would do anything for me. Evil people be warned!

Anyway, off now to look out for the postman and get a tickle and a cuddle – all good friends now!
